Thin-bloods are still seen in some quarters as a sign of Gehenna, while more cynical Kindred view them as pests vying for power they can never keep hold of. Chicago’s thin-bloods grasp at positions such as the Prince’s right hand or territories such as O’Hare Airport while the city’s other Kindred dismiss them as bugs to receive a swatting when the time comes.
Only a handful of the city’s vampires have heard the tales of thin-bloods diablerizing their elders to ascend into the ranks of their ancestor clans. Though none of the Duskborn in Chicago have exhibited such an urge, it will only take one whisper about the Amaranth to reach them before the possibility of cannibal Kindred becomes a reality.
The Camarilla: The Camarilla generally disdains Thin-Bloods as vermin, and Chicago's Camarilla court is no different. Everyone remembers when Lodin brough that one Thin-Blood "seer" into court... what was his name? Bob? And he just kept moaning about "doom" and "disaster" until the embarassed Prince threw him out into the street. Ha! ...Ha. Anyway, as long as the Thin-Blooded don't turn into a plague like what happened in Los Angeles, the Camarilla can ignore them, or throw them a scrap when they're feeling generous. Sometimes a Thin-Blood can rise to prominence fulfilling a role for the court that a more potent Kindred cannot, like Noah Grewal, who controls the domain of O'Hare Airport in the name of Prince Jackson. That's the role of a Duskborn in the Camarilla - caper and grovel, take the brand of the Crescent Moon, and do the ditch-digging work no Kindred of Quality wants to do.
The Anarchs: The Anarchs pose a quandary to the Thin-Blooded. Greater freedom than among the Camarilla, but much less security. There's no groveling before powerful potential patrons, but there's also much less protection from a superstitious blood cultist or any of the other things out there that might end a Thin-Blood just for the crime of existing. There are Thin-Bloods on the periphery of the Anarchs who are trying to change that, like Sylvia Roanhorse, who works to organize other Thin-Bloods into a full-fledged faction of the Movement with her as its Baron.
